Litter is one of those problems that feels overwhelming from a distance but is actually solved one piece at a time, by ordinary people who decide to do something about it. The state of our streets, our parks, and our trails reflects something about who we are as a community — and in a year when we're celebrating 250 years of American pride, those spaces should look their best. Grab a bag and a pair of gloves, head out to your neighborhood or a local park, and collect 250 pieces of trash. Organize a family cleanup project, rally your neighbors for a Saturday morning effort, or go solo on your regular morning walk and simply pick up what you see. Every piece you remove makes a real, visible, immediate difference — the kind of result that's deeply satisfying because you can see it with your own eyes. This challenge is accessible to literally everyone. You need nothing but time and a willingness to bend over 250 times.
